Illinois River
Summary
Largest river in Illinois, formed from Fox and Des Plaines rivers in Wisconsin and Kankakee River in Indiana. Traverses about four hundred miles to empty into Mississippi River about twenty miles above junction with Missouri River. Flows southwest through center of state.
