Richmond, Massachusetts
Summary
Post village located along Housatonic River about 160 miles west of Boston. Settled 1760; incorporated 1765. Population in 1850 about 900. Jennetta Richards Richards corresponded with JS from village regarding his friendship with her husband, Willard Richards. Heber C. Kimball and Willard Richards visited Richards’s father’s house in village on their way to serve mission in England.
