David Yearsley’s store
Summary
A Nauvoo dry goods store operated by David Dutton Yearsley beginning in May 1843. In November 1844, Yearsley opened two mercantile stores in Nauvoo: one was located in JS’s brick building on Water Street; the other was located in a building referred to as the Key Stone Store on Mulholland Street. These stores sold dry goods, including “a good assortment of Crockery and Hardware.” Yearsley ceased selling goods at the Key Stone Store by March 1845, when Asel Lathrop purchased it. Yearsley presumably continued to sell goods at JS’s brick building through November 1845.
