Personally appeared before me Joseph Smith Mayor, and Justice of the Peace in and for said , who being duly sworn according to Law, deposeth and Saith, that on the seventeenth day of December A. D. 1842, an Assault and Battery was committed upon by striking, dragging, pulling, and otherwise abusing <in said ,> whereby a breach of an Ordinance of said , entitled “an Ordinance concerning Vagrants and disorderly Persons” was also committed as believes, and this Saith that one and one Nathan Tener [Tanner] are guilty of the facts charged, and further this Saith not.—
