This Indenture made and entered into, This first day of June in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four between and Elmira [Pinkham Tufts] his wife, of the County of and State of of the first part, and Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of the County of , and State of of the second part, Witnesseth, that the said and Elmira his wife, party of the first part, for and in consideration of the love and good will they bear to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, of which the said Joseph Smith, part of the second part, is sole Trustee in Trust, and also for the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land, situate and being in the County of in the State of know and described as follows, to wit. One hundred acres off from the East side of the South West quarter of Section No twenty nine in Township No seven North of Range No eight West of the fourth principal meridian commencing Eighty four rods East from the South West corner of said quarter thence North Sixty seven rods, thence West forty three rods and thirteen links, thence North parrallel with the west line of the said quarter to the North line of said quarter, thence East to the North East corner, thence South to the South East corner of said quarter, thence West to the place of begining be the same more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining.
To Have and To Hold the above described premises unto the said Joseph Smith party of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, forever. And the said and Elmira his wife, party of the first part, their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises, unto the said Joseph Smith, as sole Trustee in Trust &c. pa[rty ]of the second part, his successors in office and assigns, against the Claim or Claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Testimony Whereof, the said and Elmira his wife party of the first part, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written

I clerk of the Municipal Court in and for <the> said , do certify, that and Elmira his wife, whose signatures appear to the foregoing deed, and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in, and who executed the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said Elmira Tufts having been by me ma[de] acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined seperate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said .
