This Indenture Made, and entered into this Seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty two. Between Joseph Smith and his wife, of the County of and State of , of the one part and , & of the County of and aforesaid, of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Joseph Smith and his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of Two Thousand dollars, to them in hand paid the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey, and confirm unto the said & their heirs and assigns forever, all these tracts or parcels of Land, situate and being in the County of in the State of viz the East half of the south East quarter of section No Thirty one in Township No Five North of the Base Line of Range No Eight West of the fourth principal Meridian containing eighty acres more or less. The West half of the North West quarter of section No Five in Township No Five <Four north> in Township No Four North of the Base Line of Range No Eight West of the Fourth prinicipal Meridian containing seventy four acres and 84/100 of an acre more or less. The east half of the North east quarter of section No six in Township No Four North of the Base Line of Range No Eight West of the fourth principal meridian containing eighty two acres and fifty six hundreths of an acre more or less. Making in all Two hundred and thirty seven acres and forty hundreths of an acre more or less. Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining.
