Articles of Lease between Joseph Smith of Hancock County of the first part; and and Elezer Van Drezer of the second part witnesseth: that the said Joseph Smith hereby leases and rents for the term of twenty weeks years from the date hereof all his right and priviledges to keep ferries across the at and from the now City of and at and from the now City of to have and hold occupy and possess for their own individual use and benefit their heirs and assigns for the term of twenty years aforesaid for the consideration of ten thousand and five hundred dollars which said consideration is to be paid in the manner following to wit; fifteen hundred dollars for the first five years beginning at the date hereof payable in equal annual payments to wit three hundred dollars for each and every year of the first five years beginning <and> for the next five years commencing at the expiration of the first five years two thousand dollars payable in equal annual instalments to wit four hundred dollars for each and every year of the last mentioned five years.
