My dear Sir
The Missourians are evidently making an other effort but what it is I am unable to say I can only give rumor which is that they are prepared with two requisitions one from <on> the governor of and one from <on> the governor of the two Sheriffs have been up the river and came down this morning on the boat with their horses & have been making some effort to assertain some facts r[e]lative to the matter without success— they movement in may be bearly to throw you off your guard; in the midst of all I hear I am unable to a[r]rive at any certainty except that the enimy are on the move but their plans I am unable to devine
