his views before the[y] got into the hands of the speculaters— Headdressed them about 2 hours.— & congratulatd & blessedthe[m]& instutd them abut 2 hours; presented himslf before th[e]m as ther h[u]mble serv[a]nt, them on their safe arrival, & blessed them, warnd them to beware of the speculators who inf[e]st the , trying to lead the saints astray & get their mon[e]y; that they might see a good ma[n]y old homes ab[o]ut, but they were all new, for the was not 4 years old, it was only a “3 year old;”— but if th[e]y did not listen to counsel the spec[u]laters would get their mon[e]y for lands with bad titles as many had done, & then they might comp <come>, as m[a]ny had done & want help when it was too late to help them;— they had come out of sectarian Bondage, & national Bondage, & arrivd in a free governmet, not free from outlaws, thieves & but free from. Bndage— taxation, oppresions &c evry thing if they conduct honstly & [illegible] with thir neighbrs free in a spirtul [spiritual] capacity;— that this is the place for the oracls of heaven to be revealed, & what they did not know they had only to ask & receive; told them what places parts of the were most healt[h]y & instr[u]cted them how to do to preserve their health in a new climate, what medicine to take whipped the doctors, & Lawyer[s], (not petty Lawyrs, but exponds [expounders?] of Gospel) Doctors would not tell them where to go to get well. they must kill or care to get the mon[e]y.— Calomel on an empty stomach,— would kill
