This Indenture, made this the tenth day of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, Between of the County of and State of of the first part, and Augustine Forey of the second part, of the and aforesaid, Witnesseth, that the said for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars, lawful money of the United States, to him in hand, well and truly paid by the said Augustine Forey, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Augustine Forey and his heirs and assigns forever, A part of Lot numbered seventy-one (71) in Block numbered two (2) of s addition to , more particularly described as commencing in the centre of Mulholland Street, running thence North twelve & a half rods (12½) along the line of said lot, thence East about six (6) rods, to the centre of Green Street, thence South twelve & a half (12½) rods, to the centre of Mulholland Street, thence West about (6) six rods, to the place of beginning, be the same more or less. And all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand, both at law and in equity of him the said , of, in, and to the said premises, and every part thereof: Together with all and singular, the privileges and appurtenances, to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining; and the rents, issues, and profits thereof: To have and to hold, the said premises hereby bargained and sold, or meant or intended so to be, with the appurtenances, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Augustine Forey, and her heirs and assigns forever. And the said for himself and for his heirs, executors, and administrators doth promise, covenant and agree, to and with the said Augustine Forey and his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, that before the ensealing and delivery hereof he was the true and lawful owner of the premises hereby granted, and had good right, full power and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid: And further, that he the said and his heirs, executors and administrators will warrant and forever defend, the aforesaid premises, with their appurtenances, and every part and parcel thereof, unto the said Augustine Forey and his heirs and assigns forever, against all persons claiming or to claim, by, from or under him, them, or any of them, or by, from or under any other person or persons whomsoever. In witness whereof, the said together with Elizabeth H[aven] Barlow wife of the said who hereby forever relinquishes all right of dower in the said premises, have hereunto set their hands and seals on the day and year first above written
