the same, did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said conveyance, for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. And the said having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed, and examined separate and apart from her said , acknowledged that she had executed the same, and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed, voluntarily, freely, and without compulsion of her said . This Indenture, made this the fifth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three, Between & Sarah [Phinney] Foster his wife of the County of and State of of the first part, and Anna Barbara Bowermaster of the County of and State of , Witnesseth, that the said for and in consideration of the sum of forty five Dollars, lawful money of the , to him in hand, well and truly paid by the said Anna Barbara Bowermaster the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Anna Barbara Bowermaster, and her heirs and assigns forever, a part of lot twenty two of Block three in s addition to , commencing at the South West corner of a piece of land owned by one Winager on the lot directly North, now this is to run from the South West corner of his land to the centre of the Street West, on which Street this land lays and on the East of the Street, now from the centre of said Street along said centre of Street forty four feet, thence East as far as to be parallel with Winagers land to the east line of said lot twenty two, thence North forty four feet, thence West along the North line of said lot twenty two and adjoining Winager to the place of beginning be the same more or less, forty four feet from North to South and about one hundred and ten or fifteen feet from East to West including Street. And all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand, both at law and in equity of the same the said & Sarah Foster of, in, and to the said premises, and every part thereof: Together with all and singular the privileges and appurtenances, to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining; and the rents, issues, and profits thereof; Togetherwithallandsingular, To have and to hold, the said premises hereby bargained and sold, or meant or intended so to be, with the appurtenances, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Anna Barbara Bowermaster and her heirs and assigns forever. And the said for himself and for his heirs; executors, and administrators doth promise, covenant and agree, to and with the said Anna Barbara Bowermaster, and her heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, that before the ensealing and delivery hereof he was the true and lawful owner of the premises hereby granted, and had good right, full power, and lawful authority to sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid: And further, that he the said and his heirs, executors and administrators will warrant and forever defend, [p. 154]
