Before me, a Justice of the peace within and for said , personally came & Sarah Foster his wife the above named grantors and acknowledged the signing and sealing of the above Deed to be their voluntary act for the use and purposes therein expressed. And the said Sarah Foster being examined by me separate and apart from her said , and the contents of the said Deed being fully made known to her upon such separate examination declared, that she did voluntarily sign, seal and acknowledge the same, and that she was still satisfied therewith. This Indenture, made this the Eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thous-and eight hundred and forty three, Between , of the County of and State of of the first part, and Henry Boley of the County of , and State of , Witnesseth, that the said for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars, lawful money of the , to him in hand, well and truly paid by the said Henry Boley the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, release, convey and confirm unto the said Henry Boley and his heirs and assigns forever, a part of lot No twenty four in Block No three in s addition to , commencing at the South West corner of said lot running thence North the whole length of the lot from North to South being about forty rods, thence East to the North East corner of the lot, thence South to the centre of Hotchkiss Street, thence West along the centre of said Street till within six and one half rods of the West line of the lot aforesaid, thence South to the South line of the lot, thence West to the place of beginning six and one half rods be the same more or less, according to the survey & record & plot. And all the estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand, both at law and in equity of the same the said & Sarah [Phinney] Foster of, in, and to the said premises, and every part thereof: Together with all and singular, the privileges and appurtenances, to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining; and the rents, issues, and profit thereof: To have and to hold, the said premises hereby bargained and sold, or meant or intended so to be, with the appurtenances, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Henry Boley and his heirs and assigns forever.
