Rods South thence ten (10) Rods West thence eight (8) rods North to the place of Beginning Together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining To have and to Hold the above described premises unto the said Barnard Rigby his heirs and assigns forever. And the said and his wife their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the said Barnard Rigby his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever, do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In testimony Whereof the said and his wife of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

I a Justice of the Peace in and for the city of County and State aforesaid do certify that and his wife whose signatures appear to the foregoing Deed and who are personally known to me to be the persons described in and who executed the same did severally acknowledge that they had Executed the said conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned And the said having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed and Examined seperate and apart from her said acknowledged that she had executed the same and relinquished her dower to the premises therein conveyed voluntarily freely and without compulsion of her said In testimony whereof I the said Justice have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal at the city of this twenty third day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty-four.

This Indenture made and entered into this fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two between and his wife of the City of Hancock county State of Illinois of the one part and of the City of and State of of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and eighty dollars in hand paid to the said and parties of the first part by party of the second part the receipt of which is hereby fully acknowledged by the parties of the first part Have this day gave granted bargained and sold by these presents do give grant, alien, release, convey and confirm to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all and singular that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of and State of Known and described as follows being Sixty acres off of the south side of the South East quarter of Section nine of Township six North of Range Eight West of the fourth principal Meridian in the tract appropiated for Military Bounties To have and to Hold to him the said his heirs and assigns forever and the said and parties of the first part do covenant and agree to and with the said party of the second part that they will warrant and forever defend the title to the above described premises against themselves their heirs executors or admin [p. 326]
