this is to cirtify that I executed the within order by taking the bodys of the within named Joseph Smith Jr & into my custoday and that I summoned a gard <of four men> to wit Wilson McKinney [McKinny] and to asist me in in taking the Smith and others from E B Creekmores the place of holding Courts in the county of to the town of Columbia in the County of State of Missouri as commanded by said order and that on the way from Said E B Creekmores in the County of a fore said on the 16th day of April 1839 the Said Smith and others made ther escape without the connivance conscent or negligence of myself or Said gard
