An ordinance to amend an ordinance entitled “An Ordinance to regulate Weights & Measures.”
Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of , that from & after the passage of this ordinance, the following Sums shall be paid to & received by the Weigher and Sealer of the City of for the Duties herein prescribed, that is to say, for rectifying branding & Sealing <the following articles, to wit all> Scale Weights <& Measures of Metal> Six & one fourth cents each, all Measures of Metal S Wood ten Cents, <each> & all Scale Beams & Steelyards twelve & one half Cents each.
which Sums shall be in full heir & satisfaction of the Sums allowed for the like Services, in and by the Ordinance of which this is an Amendment, & it shall not be lawful for the Weigher & Sealer to ask, demand, receive, or take any greater Sum or Sums, or other Compensation for such Services, under the Penalty of Five Dollars for every offence, & to be recovered <& disposed of> in like manner as <are> other <small> Fines & Forfeitures of a like nature.
