Sec. 1. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of , That from and after the passage of this ordinance, no person shall be permitted to keep a Store or grocery within the City of , without a licence for that purpose, which licence shall be granted for the same amount, and under the same regulations, as that for Taverns and ordinaries <contemplated> in the 2nd Section of the ordinance entitled “An ordinance to regulate Taverns and Ordinaries, in the City of ;” and any person who shall, without such licence, sell, or offer for sale, any goods, wares, merchandise, or groceries, shall, upon conviction thereof, incur a penalty of ten dollars for every months delay.
Sec. 2. Nothing herein contained shall be so construed as to authorise the violation of “An Ordinance in relation to Temperance.”
