At the 30 January 1843 Nauvoo City Council meeting, the council ordered that various city officers, including Woodruff, be paid for their services. Notations indicate that certificates were made out to each of them. This transaction was recorded in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger on 13 November 1843.
