There is an entry recorded 19 February 1845 in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for $3.00 for three orders to Lorenzo Clark dated 16 August 1844. There is also an entry recorded 10 December 1844 for $1.00 for Clark dated 16 August 1844. There are four extant $1.00 pay orders for Clark dated 16 August 1844. Three of the extant orders were bundled together, suggesting those three orders (including this one) correspond to the $3.00 entry. The other extant $1.00 order likely corresponds to the $1.00 entry. Clark’s account in the ledger notes ten orders on collector dated 16 August 1844 totaling $8.00. This and the other three extant pay orders for Clark dated 16 August 1844 likely correspond to four of those eight orders.
