To the Honbl. the City Council in and for the City of —
We Your petitioners would hereby set forth that we have (as wenowsuppos[e]) been mistaken in the intention of the ordinance Concerning the public revenue of the City of passed Oct 31— 1842— Where it in Sec 21 requires a publication of Lots & lands not having the tax paid on them &c — and have inadvertantly omitted complying with the Spirit of the Law in that case— And do hereby ask of your honorable body to pardon such fault of omission— And grant a further indulgence of the same agreeable to the provision made in said ordinance— and we will ever pray—
