To the Honourble the City Council of the City of Greeting Your petitioners would humby represent to your Honourable <body> that where as much evil results from the practice of seling Adent spirits By the small at the upper Stone House and as it is said that evil communications corrupt <good> manners so evil examples corrupt good morrals our youth are growing up in the midst of filthy conversation and beastly conduct— from low Priest to High Priest tipple till some of them Hardly know their own names Some of whoes names are published shortley to go on a mission and as we the citizens of the First Ward highly deprecate such things and as we consider Said Stone house a Nuisance standing in the Street this is therefore to petition your Honourable body to take such measures as you in your wisdom shall deem best calculated to remove the evil and your petitioners as in Duly bound will ever pray
