The State of Missouri, To Asa Cook George Walters Greeting. That setting aside alll manner of excuse and delay, you be and appear in proper person before the Judge of our Circuit Court on the first day of JulyTerm next at a special Term to be held on the first Monday in July at the Town of Columbia, within and for the county of . Then and there to testify and the truth to speak in a certain matter of controversy now pending in our said Court, wherein The State of —— plaintiff and , & Maurice [Morris] Phelps defendants on the part of the —— and that you fail not at your peril, and that you the Sheriff have then and there this writ.
