The People of the State of Illinois, To Esq. Justice of the Peace, and any Constable of said , Greeting:
Whereas, on the Fifth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty a judgment was rendered by Esq., a Justice of the Peace within and for the said county of against & Joseph Smith Jr in a suit instituted by against for the use of Hungerford & Livingston for Eighty Five—— Dollars and Eighty one—— Cents, and Costs of said suit, from which said judgment, the said has appealed to the Circuit Court of said . You are therefore hereby enjoined and required to suspend all further proceedings in relation thereto, until our said Court shall make other order to the contrary. And this you shall in no wise omit at your peril.
