Biography
4 May 1806–7 May 1885. Constable, wainwright, attorney, laborer, wheelwright. Born in New York. Son of Samuel Phelps and Rebecca. Married first Amanda, ca. 1831. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Feb. 1833. Moved to Geauga Co., Ohio, by 1837. Served as constable in Geauga Co. Moved to Peoria Co., Illinois, by 1840; to Clinton Co., Missouri, by 1850; to Ridgely, Platte Co., Missouri, by 1852; and to Payson, Utah Co., Utah Territory, by 1863. Married second Nelly Person. Buried in Payson.
