Moeser, Frederick Henry
Biography
21 Aug. 1805–1853. Merchant, baker, butcher. Born in Germany. Son of Johan Georg Moeser and Anna Margaret Appel. Immigrated to Pittsburgh, before 1835. Married first Magdalena Zundel, before Feb. 1835. Moved to Beaver Co., Pennsylvania, by Oct. 1836. Moved to Ohio. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Moved to Missouri, by 1839; to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, by June 1840; and to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1842. Received elder’s license, 26 Jan. 1842, in Nauvoo. Member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge. Appointed by JS to serve mission to Germany, 19 Apr. 1843. Ordained a seventy, by 3 Jan. 1846. Left church. Moved to St. Louis, 1846–1847. Returned to Hancock Co. and married second Elizabeth Backlosh, 22 Sept. 1848. Died in Warsaw, Hancock Co.
