Biography
23 Jan. 1778–1 Nov. 1846. Shoemaker, Thomsonian physician. Born in Leyden, Franklin Co., Massachusetts. Son of Benjamin Baker and Hannah Tucker. Married first Margaret Bouvee, ca. 1798, in Leyden; wife died. Moved to Warren Co., Rhode Island, by 1830. Married second Sarah Hawkes. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, by 1837. Moved to Missouri. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Appointed as counselor in elders quorum presidency, 19 Jan. 1841. Died in Mills Co., Iowa Territory.
