Biography
Ca. 1792–25/26 June 1834. Married Elizabeth (Betsey) Kinyon, 28 Feb. 1813, at Benson, Rutland Co., Vermont. Lived in Benson, by 1820. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ca. 1832. Served mission in Vermont with his brother Jared Carter, 1832. Helped brothers Simeon D. and Jared Carter establish branches of church at North West Bay and Bolton, in Chittenden Co., Vermont, summer 1832. Moved to Bolton, 1 Jan. 1833. Left for Jackson Co., Missouri, 5 Sept. 1833. Ordained a high priest, by 1834. Appointed to first Kirtland high council, 17 Feb. 1834. Appointed to serve mission to eastern U.S. with Jesse Smith, 20 Feb. 1834. Participated in Camp of Israel expedition to Missouri, 1834. Died in Clay Co., Missouri.
