Biography
Ca. 1785–18 Apr. 1867. Farmer. Born at Easton, Albany Co., New York. Son of Nathan Harris and Rhoda Lapham. Moved with parents to area of Swift’s Landing (later in Palmyra), Ontario Co., New York, 1793. Married Nancy Warren. One of five to whom JS gave Martin Harris permission to show 116 pages of Book of Mormon transcription, 1828. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ca. 1831. Disfellowshipped, 16 June 1836. Located at Mentor, Lake Co., Ohio, 1840. Member of high council of James J. Strang’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Kirtland, Lake Co., by Aug. 1846. Died at Mentor.
