Biography

28 Feb. 1818–20 Mar. 1887. Constable, sexton, carpenter, farmer, postmaster. Born in Watertown, Jefferson Co., New York. Son of William Huntington and Zina Baker. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Luke Johnson, Aug. 1836. Moved to Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio, Oct. 1836; to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, July 1838; to Adam-ondi-Ahman, Daviess Co., Missouri, Oct. 1838; and to Commerce (later Nauvoo), Hancock Co., Illinois, 1839. Married first Caroline Clark, 24 Sept. 1839, in Commerce. Married second Harriet Partridge, 29 Oct. 1840, in Hancock Co. Served as Nauvoo city sexton, Sept. 1841–1846. Served as constable, in Nauvoo. Ordained a seventy, by 20 Dec. 1845. Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1849. Moved to Springville, Utah Co., Utah Territory. Died in Springville.
