Revelation, 11 November 1831–B [D&C 107 partial]

As two weeks of conference meetings in November 1831 wound to a close, this revelation communicated to the church in Zion additional instructions regarding the conducting of church business. The revelation announced a milestone in church polity—the various priesthood offices were to be organized into their own respective bodies (later called “quorums”), with one of their number designated as president. The highest office was high priest, and the president of the high priesthood was to preside over the whole church.
