Married Nancy Kingsbury, 7 Dec. 1814, in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. Moved to Warrensville (later in University Heights), Cuyahoga Co., by June 1830. Baptized by Parley P. Pratt, 14 Nov. 1830, likely in Cleveland. Moved to Jackson Co., Missouri, by 1832. Moved to Clay Co., Missouri, ca. 1833. Served mission to Illinois, 1835; with Levi Jackman, established branch of church near Clear Creek, Union Co., Illinois. Moved to what became Caldwell Co., Missouri, ca. 1836. With JS in jail at Liberty, Clay Co., Nov. 1838–Feb. 1839. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, by 1840. Ordained a high priest. Moved to Salt Lake Valley, 1848. Died in Salt Lake City.
