Biography

31 May 18061–27 Apr. 1863.2 Merchant, iron foundry operator, mail carrier.3 Born in West Fairlee, Orange Co., Vermont.4 Son of Phineas Kimball and Abigail.5 Moved to Commerce (later Nauvoo), Hancock Co., Illinois, 1833, and established several stores.6 Married Sarah M. Granger, 23 Sept. 1840, in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio; returned to Nauvoo three weeks later.7 Member of Nauvoo Masonic Lodge.8 Appointed assistant adjutant general in Nauvoo Legion, 3 June 1842.9 Nauvoo city alderman, 1841–1843.10 Baptized into LDS church by Eli Maginn, 20 July 1843, in Nauvoo.11 Ordained a high priest, by 17 Jan. 1846.12 Operated Nauvoo iron foundry, by 1846.13 Wounded in Battle of Nauvoo, Sept. 1846.14 Moved to Utah Territory, 1850.15 Died en route to serve mission to Sandwich Islands when ship's boiler exploded.16
