Biography

2 Feb. 1807–25 Dec. 1883. Farmer, laborer, gardener. Born at Ovid, Seneca Co., New York. Son of John Ransen Rappleye and Margaret Tillier. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by S. Roundy, 20 Nov. 1834. Married to Louisa Elizabeth Cutler by JS, 17 Jan. 1836, at Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Moved to Crooked River near Ray Co., Missouri, 1836. When driven from Missouri, located in Adams Co., Illinois, and then in Hancock Co., Illinois. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., 1845. Served mission to eastern states, 1845. Member of Brigham Young pioneer company to Salt Lake Valley, 1847. Moved to Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, by June 1850. Returned to Salt Lake Valley with his family, by 1853. Moved to Lehi, Utah Co., Utah Territory, by Feb. 1854. Moved to Millard Co., Utah Territory, 1865. Located at Petersburg (later near Kanosh), Millard Co., June 1870. Ordained a high priest, 1866, in Kanosh. Died at Kanosh.
