7 Mar. 1793–11 May 1887. Farmer, cobbler, clergyman. Born in New York. Married first Mary Porter, 12 Jan. 1812, in Schoharie, Schoharie Co., New York. Served in War of 1812. Lived in Broome, Schoharie Co., New York, 1820. Moved to Strongsville, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio, by 1830. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Solomon Hancock, 8 Jan. 1831, in Cuyahoga Co. Ordained an elder, by 3 June 1831, in Ohio. Ordained a high priest by Lyman Wight, 4 June 1831, in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. Appointed to serve mission with William Carter to Missouri, June 1831. Moved to Jackson Co., Missouri, by 1832. Served as presiding elder of branch at Big Blue River, Kaw Township, Jackson Co., 1832. Attended high priests meetings in Jackson Co., 1832–1833. Moved to Lee Co., Iowa Territory, by 1840. Lived in Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, 1850. Lived in Jasper Co., Missouri, 1851. Moved to Fremont Co., Iowa, by 1853. Present at organization of Alpheus Cutler’s Church of Jesus Christ, 19 Sept. 1853, in Fishers Grove (later in Shenandoah), Fremont Co. Baptized into Cutlerite church by Edmund Fisher, July 1854. Wife died, 1855. In spring 1858, helped raise branch of forty members in Farm Creek (later in Henderson), Mills Co., Iowa. Married second Lovina Perry, 12 Aug. 1858, in Mills Co. Joined Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, fall 1859, in Farm Creek. Lived in Manti, Fremont Co., 1871. Married third Mary Ruby, 30 Aug. 1878, in Tabor, Fremont Co. Lived in Ross, Fremont Co., 1880. Moved near Stewartsville, DeKalb Co., Missouri, ca. 1883. Died near Stewartsville.
