Monday January 15th. 1844. came . before the of said court, and upon filing his complaint on oath. that did absent himself from the city council without leave. while in attendance as witness on the 5th. of January. 1844. and of uttering and writing Slanderous reports concerning some one of the members of said council since the aforesaid date. Warrant was issued for the arrest of said .
10. oclock A.M.— Tuesday January 16th.. Present Alderman , , , . . associate Justices. The Mayor being absent. Alderman was elected president Pro Tem. and . Esqr.— was appointed. City Attorney. for the management of the case before the court. The having returned the warrant— as served. and the prisoner before the court. Court adjourned one hour to accommodate the City Council.
During the adjournment. made Satisfaction to the aggrieved party.— and no further action was had by the Court.
February 10. 1845 The Clerk has drawn on the Treasurer for the above fees, amounting to 6.62½. [p. 90]
