This Indenture made and entered into this eighteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five between and Catherine his wife of the City of , of the county Saint Louis and state of of the one part and John Garner Sheffield of aforesaid of the thesum other part Witnesseth that the said and Catherine his wife for and in consideration of the sum of eighteen dol<l>ars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do hereby grant bargain seel convey and confirm unto the said John Garner Sheffield his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate and being in the county of in the state of viz: apart of Lot twenty five in Block six of s addition to commenceing two hundred links North from the South West corner of the North half of said lot thence North thirty three feet thence East to the center of Warsaw Street thence thence south thirty three feet thence West one hundred seventy seven and one half links to the place of begining be the sane more or less.
Together with all and singular the appertenances thereunto beloning or in any wise appertaining To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said John Gorge [Garner] Sheffields his heirs and assigns forever And the said and Catherine his wife there their heirs and assigns the aforesaid premises unto the Said John George Shiffields [Sheffield], his heirs and assigns againts the claim or claims of all and every person whomesoever do and will warrent and for ever by these presents defend In testimony whereof the said and Catherine his wife of the first part have hereunto set there hands and seals the day and year above writen

I Frederick Kretschmar a notary publick in <&> for the county of saint louis state aforesaid duly commission and qualified do certify that and Catherine his wife whose signatures appear to the forgoing deed and who are pesonally known to me to be the persons described in and who executed the sane did severally acknowledge that they had executed the said<me> conyeyance for the uses and purposes therin metion And the said Catherine Walker having been by me made acquainted with the contents of the said Deed and examined seperate and apart from her said acknowledged that she had executed the same and relinquish her dower to the premises therein conveyed voluntarly freely and without compulsion of her Giver under my hand and seal affixing my notarael seal this eighteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five
