There are two entries recorded 30 January and 20 February 1845 in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for an order to Samuel Billings dated 22 August 1844 for $2.00. This is the only extant pay order for $2.00 dated 22 August 1844 and likely corresponds to one of two the ledger entries. Billings’s account in the ledger notes fourteen orders on collector dated 22 August 1844 totaling $23.00. This and the two other extant pay orders for Billings dated 22 August 1844 likely correspond to three of those fourteen orders.
