There are two entries recorded 10 December 1844 and 19 February 1845 in the Nauvoo City Treasury Ledger for $2.00 for orders to Warren Smith dated 5 October 1844. There is another entry recorded 19 February 1845 for $3.00 for two orders to Smith dated 5 October 1844. This is the only extant pay order for $2.00 to Smith; it could correspond to any of those three ledger entries. Smith’s account in the ledger notes ten orders on collector dated 5 October 1844 totaling $23.00. This and the two other extant pay orders for Smith dated 5 October 1844 likely correspond to three of those ten orders.
