At a circuit court began and held for State of Missouri on Monday the twenty-second day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and thirty-nine the following proceedings were had. To wit:

Be it remembered that at a circuit court began and held at the [co]urt house in the Town of in the County of on Monday the 22d day of April 1839 being the fourth monday in said month before the Hon. Commissioned & assigned to hold the Courts in said : , Esquire high Sheriff in and for said returned into open Court, the s writ of to him directed executed on James Holman [Will]iam W. Clements, Thos L. D. W. Shaw [illegible] Sile, William Hockinsmith Lewis [illegible] Joseph Cravin, Jesse Levault Randolph [Mc]Donald, William Hill, John Clevinger, Robert Prichard, John H. Smith William Cox, John Shackleford, John Davis, Thomas Hamilton & William Jeffreys all of whom appeared being good and lawful men of said : James Holman was appointed foreman who together with his fellow Jurors being duly sworn as the law requires as a grand inquirie for the state of and for the body of the County of after having received their charge from the Court [p. 1]
