Moved to Granby, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts, by 1816. Moved to Suffield, Hartford Co., Connecticut, by Aug. 1820. Married first Celia Kent, 14 Oct. 1828, in Suffield. Moved to Chardon, Geauga Co., Ohio, by June 1830. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Parley P. Pratt, 16 Oct. 1830, in Kirtland, Geauga Co. Moved to Jackson Co., Missouri, 10 Nov. 1832. Moved to Clay Co., Missouri. Ordained a teacher by David Whitmer, 1834, in Liberty, Clay Co. Elected lieutenant colonel in Far West, Caldwell Co., militia. Moved to Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois, 1839. Moved to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, 1840.
