Burch, Thomas C.
Biography
Ca. 1807–ca. Sept. 1839. Attorney, judge. Likely born in Tennessee. Married first Ann Ross, 20 Jan. 1824, at Howard Co., Missouri. Began law practice, 1831, at Richmond, Ray Co., Missouri. Married second Celenary (Selinary) Jacobs, 23 Jan. 1834, at Ray Co. Circuit attorney for Ray Co., 1838. Appointed judge of Eleventh Judicial Circuit, 1838. On 15 Apr. 1839, JS and other prisoners with him secured change of venue to Boone Co., Missouri, because of Burch’s new judicial appointment. His office posed conflict of interest, as he had been prosecuting attorney for state at hearing in Richmond, Nov. 1838. Died at Keytesville, Chariton Co., Missouri.
