Branch

Summary

An ecclesiastical organization of church members in a particular locale.1 A branch was generally smaller than a stake or a conference.2 Branches were also referred to as churches, as in “the Church of Shalersville.”3 In general, branches were led by a presiding elder or high priest.4 See also “Stake.”
