This Indenture made this twelfth day of April AD. One thousand eight hundred and forty five between , administrator of the Estate of Joseph Smith Late of in the State of deceased of the one part, and and as Trustees in Trust for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of the and aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that on the day and date aforesaid between the hours of Nine oclock AM, and five oclock P.M. the Said Administrator at public sale openly Sold and struck off to the Said and as Trustees &c for the use and benefit of the said Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints “all the interest of the Said Joseph Smith deceased in the Association whether by virtue of the charter of Said association or otherwise the said premises having been duly advertised as the Law directs” for the Sum of Six 50/100 dollars, they being the highest bidders and no person having bid more for the Same
Now therefore this Indenture witnesseth that the Said for and in consideration of the Sum of Six 50/100 dollars to him paid by th[e] Said and as Trustees &c. the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, convey and forever, Quit-claim unto the Said and as Trustees &c. their Successors in Office and assigns forever. all the interest of the Said Joseph Smith deceased in the Association of every nature and character whatsoever To have and to hold the Same with all the privileges and appurtenance[s] to the Same belonging or in anywise appertaining to the Said [p. 549]
