Your orator Phineas Kimball of and state of humbly complaining showeth unto your honor that one Joseph Smith junior togethr with one , , , & on the 11th. day of July AD 1837 at in the State of executed his two certain promissory notes of which the following are copies to wit:
$1377.01. July 11, 1837
On the eighth day of July AD 1838 for value recd we jointly and severally promise to pay Mead Stafford & Co. or order thirteen hundred and seventy seven dollars1/100 dollars
