Now the question is shall a committee be appointed to assist you and to get the papers ready to report before the people at the conference. He had suggested the idea of getting to assist , and they can have you and to help them. They can also get to assist in the matter.

    In addition to serving as president of the Nauvoo House Association, Miller was a trustee-in-trust for the church along with Newel K. Whitney. William Clayton had been the last person to review portions of the Nauvoo House Association records in the winter of 1844–1845. James Sloan, an experienced clerk like Clayton, had previously helped with bookkeeping for the association.
