Bacon’s Mill was built by Charles W. Bacon in McDonough County, Illinois, in 1832 and operated into the 1850s. The mill was located on the Macomb-Carthage road and would have been accessible to Nauvoo residents. (Rezab, Place Names of McDonough County, 4.)
