10 Dec. 1803–after July 1874. Physician. Born in Chatham Co., North Carolina. Son of Thomas Younger and Mary (Polly) Nall. Married first Susanna McCarley, 28 Sept. 1824, in Maury Co., Tennessee. Moved to Bond Co., Illinois, by 1830. Baptized into Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 Mar. 1832, in Greenville, Bond Co. Purchased land in Clay Co., Missouri, and Caldwell Co., Missouri, 1838. Moved to Sangamon Co., Illinois, by 1840. Ordained an elder, 2 July 1841, in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. Moved to Nauvoo, by 1842. Ordained a seventy, 10 Dec. 1844. Appointed to serve mission in Tennessee, Apr. 1844. Cut off from Quorum of the Seventy, Dec. 1845. Joined James J. Strang’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, by Apr. 1846. Excommunicated from Strangite movement, by 22 July 1847. Joined James Brewster’s Church of Christ; left movement, by May 1850. Moved to Magnolia, Harrison Co., Iowa, by 1854. Married second Katharine Smith Salisbury, 3 May 1857, in Hancock Co. Baptized into Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 20 July 1859.
