before— I did not know the other two—
I heard one of these men say that his arm was all shot to pieces— this was Wills— I did not See the wounds then— and have not seen the men since— saw the blood running out of his Wills arm— one of the others was hurt on the face— and Saw the blood on the shoulder of the other—

Wills said <*> <(>I told you that I did not write all that book wrote it— when questioned whether he Said that two were mortally wounded<)> <I> heard Wills say that Jo Smith Shot him— that he was the first <one> shot through the door— as Wills came down out of the door he went around towards the window <on the east Side—>— Wills went off on foot— the dont know <how> the other two went away— one of the others were <was> shot in the shoulder— Saw one of them that the one who was wounded in the shoulder after wards shoot at Smith— <he> held the gun in both <his> hands— <the> wound did not appear to affect him much— <I> supposed him <only> slightly wounded— saw Smith when he fell out of the window— he fell out— saw him Smith hanging in the window his hands on one side, of the window— and his feet in the other— his body hanging out <side>— his head <was> to the north— Saw no one shoot at him while he was hanging in the window— told them to Shoot— but no one did until he fell— he fell on his back— when he fell one man rushed at him, <took hold of him> picked him up, and held him up— and said old Jo [p. 30]
