recollect— what— there was something said about blowing the Jail to Hell— My reason for going back, was because the lawful authority had ceased and I wanted to go home— I might have heard others say the same thing but cannot remember well enough to Say— I think I heard say something about raising Volunteers, but cant say what it was— cant recollect whether he was in favor or against it— dont know who he was talking with— did not hear or say any thing about the Volunteering— I thinks he saw on horseback at that time— this was probably betwixt 10 and 3 o’clock— I will give myself room— Somewhere about the middle of the day— thinks he saw on horseback— Dont recollect to have seen or Grover there— Saw <there>— the last place I saw him <> he was going alone towards — Dont recollect what kind of horse was riding. <I considered> The volunteering was spoken of publickly by several— Cant recollect what said about the volunteering— but thinks he said something— I am not willing to Say what <that> I do not recollect any thing he said— but I do not recollect it sufficiently to state what it was— what I was trying to recollect, I cant say whether it was said by or Capt together Wiers— It is my opinion that it was one of them— the impact of what was said, was that those who would go to should advance some paces in front— Some did advance in front— [p. 44]
