two weeks afterwards— I did deny to Mrs Fleming that I knew any thing about it— I did not Say in the presence of and Mr. Reynolds at that I knew nothing about it— I know Mr. Reynolds and — I did not deny it before them— because they did not ask me about it— I did not converse about it in their presence— I always denied it while I was in — because I was afraid of being called as a witness— after I got to I did not have any idea that I would be called as a witness— Since I went to I have not denied it to any one— I did not deny it to any one in , because the question was never asked me— and I had no occasion to deny it— I denied it to Mrs. Fleming in — I never mentioned the names of Grover & but to one person— in mentioning it to others, without mentioning names— they had heard who did the deed— I never told the names of Grover & to any but the one person— but Suppose that person told it to others— There was no fire in the stove in the kitchen when they came from that night— Mr. Gening made the fire in the Stove—
