I was in at the rail Road and at home on that day in in the morning left with the companies for — I think it Is probable I saw some of Def[endan]ts in — I came out with the companies to R R S— the troops were there disbanded I think read the order as well as I recollect It would be impossible for me to tell what I did hear that day there was a call for volunteers that I cannot recollect about it— I do not recollect whether I saw [William] Grover or no— I saw there do not whether he made a Speach or no— do not know whether a companey started for most of the men were below the Shantees when I left shooting at a mark I heard going to was spokin of dont know by whom— said all that were in favour of going to and Eating dinner at the tavern to come an he was for the dinner the[re] was a difference of opinion of in relation to what they were coming to — I heard some person say that he would blow the Jail to hell do not know who he was— I know what my reasons for not wanting to come to were do not know other mens— I think I heard say something about volunteers cannot say what it— I think I did not hear any thing about v— I think I did [2 words illegible] say any ting about v [p.
